MOVING BY FAITH
I woke up this morning (about 5am) and the first thought that came to mind is to draft my thank you letter to all those who helped me along the way, through my Chartered Accountancy qualification. Sometimes it is so easy to forget those who have given us a helping hand at various times in our lives.
I know my results are tomorrow and I have already planned my celebration, drafted my thank you letter and went a step further to send to my pastor, his wife and a prayer partner of mine, Rita the “draft thank you letter”.
It might seem a bit of an odd thing to do, but I believe it is in line with what God says, Our Faith should be displayed with actions, and that is exactly what I have done today.
What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
What I have done today, reminds me so well of what I did 4 to 5years ago, when I was adamant to apply for jobs, because I was believing God to open the floodgates of heaven over my life and open the door of opportunity for me in the UK to study my masters with a full scholarship.
Everyone encouraged me to apply for a job, but I said “No, that would be contrary to my faith that God would give me a full scholarship to study in the UK”. Well the long and short of it all is that I got my scholarship, just in line with my actions.
Today I daydream of my thanksgiving to all who have helped me come this far, and may the Good Lord bless my actions which have been carried out through moving by faith.
Say a prayer for me today.
